Katharina Gruber, born 1990 in Vienna/AT, studied timebased and interactive media at Linz Art University. With the background as a developer she found her new home in media and interactive art. Next to exhibiting installations at Ars Electronica Center in AT/Linz, Metrokinokulturhaus in AT/Vienna or Tadaex in IRAN/Tehran, she and two collegues started working on generative visuals displayed on an own build kinetic installation. They performed at 21rpm in UK/London, Ars Electronica Festival AT/Linz and many more!

Other installations like „A light-driven standstill“ are an investigation of the dynamic relationship between movement and standstill. Her work tries to deconstruct the world on a meta-level only to construct it again in a different way. It’s an experiment for trying to understand the world in an existencial way and to create possibilities to discover new thoughts and play with your conciousness. The artwork is only complete if it generates some kind of energy in the visitor. She currently works and live in Vienna.
